From the Worshipful Master
Hello Brethren;
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and a very happy New Year’s celebration.
As we kick off 2013, we have new challenges and new opportunities (which are usually opposite sides of the same coin). There are many members of Wayfarers Lodge whom we’ve missed for some time. It is my most sincere wish to see these brothers and enjoy their participation once again. I will be reaching out to each of you in the coming weeks to visit and to introduce myself to those of you whom I’ve never met.
Our Job’s Daughters Bethel is having their installation of officers at 5pm on the 5th of this month. All brothers are welcome to attend and the girls would be thrilled with a good turnout.
Our Stated Meeting will be on the 8th at 7pm with dinner served at 6pm.
On the 18th of last month, eight brothers turned out for the first of what surely will be many off-site get-togethers. We met at the Knocked Kneed Lobster for dinner and laughs. Someone has already come up with a most appropriate name for such events – “rough ashler nightâ€. Keep an eye on our calendar for the next such event. We had a great time. I’ll be scheduling a “Rough Ashler Night†each month unless precluded by holidays, degrees or other such things. The more, the merrier. Please consider coming out to “let your hair down†and become friends with your brothers.
Also, don’t forget our Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, the 26th at 9am. Bring friends and family for what I’m certain will be another great social event over a fine meal.
Fraternally yours,
George Daggett

Happy New Years to everyone. I hope that this year brings happiness and good health to you and your family and friends. This year we have a great opportunity to keep the lodge moving forward, and with your continued support of the lodge, and our ambitious WM, we should have a great year.
I am hoping that we all rededicate ourselves to supporting Free Masonry and Wayfarers this year. Our WM has some fun things planed this year. We had a dinner out last week that was a great time just getting to know each other on a more personal level and was well received by all who attended.
Please support our Star Sisters and Brothers and our youth groups as your time permits, as we treasure our Masonic family.
I am looking forward to working with this year’s officers, and serving you as SW this year.
Fraternally,
Doug Steele

Brethren,
Happy New Year 2013! It appears as though the Mayan Calendar was wrong and we are still here, so we will have to begin working hard once again on improving ourselves as Masons, as a Masonic Family and, and as a lodge. You didn’t think you’d get off that easy did you?
I have been working with our Worshipful Master on the beginning planning stages on what has been aptly named “Rough Ashler Nights.” We had what our first such one of these a couple of weeks ago at the Knock Kneed Lobster, a little seafood place not far from downtown. We ate, we talked, we joked, we had some laughs, and it was a really good time being less formal then our official meetings and we were actually able to get to know one another a little better. We are taking suggestions for these, so if you have any ideas, please e-mail me at junior_warden@wayfarers50.com or e-mail WM George at worshipful_master@wayfarers50.com. We are open to any idea you may have. Bowling has been suggested, as one example. These will hopefully be scheduled each month unless there are degrees or holidays that interfere, so please watch the calendar.
I would like to thank our Star Sisters for the wonderful meal that they served us for the December stated meeting. Ladies, it was wonderful and we look forward to you cooking for us again in the coming months! I would also like to thank our Jobies for stepping up for our stated meeting dinner for January. We are all looking forward to what you have planned.
And speaking of the Jobies, please come to the Installation of Officers on January 5th. The girls love it when the brothers come out to support them so let’s show them that you care! Check the calendar or time.
Finally, please visit our website early and often. There is always lots of great information available.
With that, I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year, and I hope that everyone’s holiday season, no matter what you do or do not celebrate, was joyous, filled with family, friends, love, and togetherness.
Yours in the Craft,
Jason Michlowitz

Welcome all to 2013. Hope your Holidays were special for one and all. Last year was great under the leadership of Worshipful Richard Hinson. Richard’s leadership in front of as well as behind the scenes was magnificent. Congratulations to PM Walt Hinson as our Mason of the Year. Walt has put his stamp on our Lodge for many years. The award is well desired. On to this year and I would like to remind everyone about our Masonic Education nights that have been a moniquer of Wayfarers 50 Lodge. On the forth Tuesday @ 7PM of every month this Round Table discussion and education has been a tradition for ours four years. It is open to all and has brought us more new members than any other vehicle we have. It’s more than education; it symbolizes Masonic brotherhood and great social interactivity. Next meeting is January 22, 2013. Be there and bring a friend. You’ll be a better Mason for your time. Finally if you have not seen our new website. It’s worth your time. Also a great way to introduce a candidate to what we are.
