From the Worshipful Master
Hello Wayfarers,
I want to start by saying thank you to all of you for the love and concern you’ve shown during the last couple of weeks.
Several times since entering the hospital, when I was extremely weak, in lots of pain and drained of hope and energy, I could feel renewed strength and comfort from without. I knew I was receiving those gifts because of the prayers and good thoughts of those who love me. On the most dismal day of this entire experience while I was exhausted and extremely depressed, I received an arrangement of Vanda Orchids and a card which read “May the Purple of the fraternity provide comfort and well wishes for a speedy recovery from your officers and brothers of Wayfarers Lodge #50.†I can’t describe the renewal of spirit and determination that occurred as I read those lines nor can I describe my gratitude for my Masonic family.
I want to thank my pedestal officers too, for keeping the wheels on and staying on top of Lodge priorities and for being so supportive of myself and my family.
I’ve been pretty addled and overwhelmed since getting home and I apologize for my lack of communication with many of you who are and have been reaching out. I promise I’ll get better about my responsiveness as I struggle to regain my faculties. Hopefully, I’ll be back on my “A game†soon.
Fraternally Yours,
George Daggett

Brethren:
First and foremost I want to give thanks to the Great Architect of the Universe for seeing our WM through a very serious surgery last week. The WM is resting at home and appears to be recovering as expected, so thanks to all of the Masonic family for its prayers and support during this difficult time.
The lodge will host a DDGM meeting on August 10th at Wayfarers’ Lodge at 8:30 am, pedestal officers are expected to attend, but it is open for any brother who may have an interest. I also want to mention that if you missed out on the last education night you missed a very productive, interesting, and fun meeting. We had about twenty two brothers and potential brothers attend to participate in a very open conversation, I encourage you to attend the next education night on the 4th Tuesday in August, you won’t regret it.
The lodge is currently dark over the summer with degree work being scheduled as required, you attendance is critical for candidate and the future of the lodge, I hope that you will make every effort to support these degree nights. Also, I am spending some open night visiting other lodges, it’s a great time to get out to visit other lodges and meet brothers that you wouldn’t normally come in contact with, if you interested in joining me, please let me know.
Hope your summer is going well, and that you all stay happy, healthy and safe!
Fraternally,

Brothers and Friends,
I must admit last month I had quite the scare, as I am sure we all did. Not many know, but I have been personally friends with the Daggett family for many years, from the time I was in high school. I have known and respected each and every one of them and enjoy their company greatly. So one can only imagine what I felt when I heard the news about WB George and what he was being forced to go through. I can tell you with all certainty that I am relieved, and very glad that things seem to be moving in the right direction for him, and that he is recovering. WB George is one yof my mentors, whether he wants to be or not (I say with a laugh) and he has taught me more about Masonry then I could ever have asked for (not to mention plenty of other stuff I probably should have already have known). Without being too mushy, I am terribly, terribly grateful to the Great Architect that he was able to see WB George through this trying time and continues to do so. Prayers do get answered!
On to business, we will be having degree work this month even though we are dark. Please watch the calendar. I am looking forward to meeting our new DDGM on Saturday, August 10, and I continue to keep the soda machine updated. I believe that the Jobies will have dinner for us on September 10th at the Stated Meeting so we are all looking forward to the wonderful meal that they always prepare.
Thanks to all who prayed for our Worshipful Master. He will be back with us soon as his recovery continues. I know that he is grateful for all of the support he received.
Yours in the Craft,
Jason Michlowitz
