Trestle Board June 2013

June 5th, 2013

From the Worshipful Master

Triple-digit temperatures are upon us once again. That must mean it’s time for the annual Grand Lodge Communication. We’ll be heading to Lake Havasu early Thursday morning, June 6th. For those of you who mentioned you wanted to talk with me about pending legislation, you still have time to get with me. I’ll be available by phone/voicemail throughout the weekend.

We had to move the initiation originally scheduled for the 4th, to the 18th because we are not allowed to tyle the lodge during the week preceding the Grand Lodge Communication. Any and all who can possibly come out on the 18th, should do so. The more brothers we have, the better the experience for the candidate.

Our Job’s Daughters have requested that I ask again, for brothers to attend their Installation of Officers on the 15th. The girls need Masons to escort the new officers and the Past Honor Queen would really like to have several brothers “be her family” at her ritual “signing of the bible”. Please brothers, consider contacting myself, Brother Jason Michlowitz, Bethel Gardian Susan Rial, or WB Doug Steele to volunteer for this rewarding event. The girls have been very supportive of us, lets return the favor.

Speaking of our Jobies, I attended Chiara Hommel’s last meeting as Honor Queen. At that meeting, Chiara presented Wayfarers with a gorgeous, hand made plaque with many thanks to the lodge for our support of the Bethel. The plaque is currently displayed on the shelving unit at the south end of the dining room. Take a look next time you’re at the lodge.

Finally, we will be emptying the refrigerator and freezer at the end of June so they can be turned off when we go dark. If anyone has food in them, please remove it before the 28th of this month.

Fraternally Yours,

George Daggett
Worshipful Master

From the Senior Warden

Brothers:

Summer is here and time to wish you and your family a fun filled and safe vacation season. I hope that you will continue to attend the degree work during these months as it is important to keep our candidates engaged and progressing through the degrees. Grand Lodge will also take place in June and we will be there to represent Wayfarers. Bethel #22 installation is Saturday June 15th at 5PM, and I would appreciate the brothers attendance and support of these daughters.

Wayfarers is in need of good candidates to join our lodge. I would like to see each of us look into our friend pool and see if there is someone who you think shares in our values and would be a good brother and member. We have a lot of good men going through the degrees and we need to continue this to sustain the lodge for future generations.

Come out and join us for one of our Rough Ashlars’ nights where we find a nice place to eat and get to know each other on a more personal level outside of lodge.

Fraternally,

Doug Steele
Senior Warden

From the Junior Warden

Brothers and Friends,

As you all know, I have been managing our digital presence online for the last year now or so. I do this in my spare time when I have a moment to take care of the things asked of me. I would like to politely ask though that if you have a request that you get me the materials to fulfill that request in a timely fashion and understand that if it takes me a day to commit something to the Facebook page or to our website, that I have not forgotten and it will get done as quickly as possible. I am not normally behind on these requests but I have been getting a lot of them lately. Also, if you have a date request, please keep in mind that I am not responsible for scheduling, and that I only put things on the calendar at the request of the Worshipful Master. If you have a date request for use of the lodge, please see the Master first and not me, because I cannot make those decisions.

I want to thank the DeMolay for preparing our May Stated Meeting Dinner. Fellas, it was great. And I am grateful that you were able to provide that for us. We are looking forward to the Lodge providing the June meal just after Grand Lodge Communication this month.

Speaking of the DeMolay, WB Rick Hinson really needs your support in order to keep this chapter functioning. He no longer has the time and energy to devote to this, and is asking for someone to step in and take this off his hands, that the chapter might survive and thrive. If you know any boys that are interested between the ages of 10 and 20, please contact me and I will refer you to WB Rick. If you are interested in helping out with the chapter as an adult leader, I will do the same with that information as well.

Also, speaking of the Grand Lodge Communication, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Wayfarers for the trust and faith that you put in me (and all of our pedestal officers) that I might represent your best interests. I am humbled with the honor of going there to vote for the good of our craft and for our awesome Lodge that we have in Sunnyslope. Thank you for that trust, and I promise not to let you down.

I want to thank the Jobies for inviting me to be a part of the Installation of Officers on June 15. The girls have been very good to me and my family and I am touched that I have been asked to participate. I am looking forward to it and I am honored that I have been asked. Thank you!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the next degree on June 18th. He is a friend of many of our members and we are looking forward to spreading to him the light he so deserves. Let’s have a great turn out so that we can have a great impression made for this candidate.

Yours in the Craft,

Jason Michlowitz
Junior Warden
