From the Worshipful Master
Brethren,
May is upon us and it’s getting hot. Our officer dress code is Polo shirts and Bolo ties. This began on April 1st and will continue through the summer and early fall months.
We’re only a month away from this year’s Grand Lodge Communication. Copies of pending legislation were handed out at our last SM for your consideration. A list of GL officer candidates is also available. We’ll be going over all of this at our SM on the 14th, as we’ve always done. Please come and give us your input on these matters so we can properly represent the will of the lodge.
We’ve scheduled another “Rough Ashlar Night†for the 7th. We’ll be getting together for billiards, darts, good food and fellowship at Gallagher’s Sports Grill on 16th street between Glendale and Northern at 7pm. These events are intended to allow us to get together away from lodge propriety and protocols to get acquainted on a casual level. Please come and hang out with us.
We have a 3rd degree scheduled for the 21st. Many brothers make a great impression on the candidate. Watch the calendar as this date is tentative. Please plan to come out and help us raise a new and motivated MM.
As of May 1st, our alarm system is active. Anyone wishing access to the lodge will need to be accompanied by someone with an alarm code. Those with codes will be responsible for any activity associated with their codes. I’m sure there are brothers with keys to the lodge who DON’T have a code. If you believe you should have an alarm code, please contact me.
Our Annual “Pig Out†BBQ was held on April 20th. It was a tremendous success. We found out just before the event that O.E.S. and the Shrine both had events that conflicted with the BBQ. There was some concern about turnout for the event but we were still supported by members of both organizations and our Job’s Daughters. There were many hands involved in the event, making for light work. There were seven of us at the lodge all night on Friday and most of the day Saturday. There were several others who came Friday night and returned Saturday to help. I’d really like to thank all of you who worked so hard to put on the BBQ and those who supported the event to make it such a great time for all.
Fraternally Yours,
George Daggett

Brothers:
We had a very successful Pig Out event and I want to thank all the brothers and friends who help to make this a great day. We had several brothers attend that I had not seen in quite some time and it was great to have them at Wayfarers, and hoping they will come more often. Summer is coming soon and the heat will be upon us, we have important decisions to make in the lodge regarding our air conditioning and hope that you will all attend and voice your opinion on this as every brother has a right and obligation to speak up for the good the lodge. I appreciate the support that many of the brothers have given to our Job’s Daughters Bethel, your attendance at their meetings is very much appreciated.
I want to remind everyone to keep our brothers who are infirmed in your prayers and hope that they feel better and recover fully.

Brothers and Friends,
Wow! Summer is already upon us! Keep buying those sodas. All the proceeds go to our beloved lodge and help us with event refreshments.
Our DeMolay will be doing our stated meeting dinner this month and we are looking forward to what they will be serving us. The food is always good. I want to thank our Jobies for putting on the stated meeting dinner last month (April). The food was outstanding ladies, thank you!
On to some business. We will be having some degrees coming up so all of our officers need to be sharp. It is good for the candidates and it is good for the lodge. We also need brothers to come back out and support us. There is nothing like seeing a packed house for a degree.
Finally, the Pig Out was a GREAT success. Thank you Worshipful Brother George for cooking the amazing food that we were privileged to eat that day. And thank you brothers and friends for coming out and supporting the event! We made a pretty decent profit that help us keep our lights on.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in lodge again soon!
Yours in the Craft,
Jason Michlowitz
