From the Worshipful Master
When we last left Flash…
It’s April already and summer appears to be upon us. At our SM on the 9th, we’ll be handing out copies of pending legislation for this year’s Grand Lodge Communication. Yes, it’s that time again already. We’ll also be visited by our Sr. Grand Warden. We’ll be doing a 1st reading on a new petition that night too. Attendance has been off for the last few months so please consider coming out to support us.
On the 16th, we’ll be holding a 3rd degree practice for all 2nd section officers. Since we haven’t done a 3rd degree in almost a year, this practice is very necessary. We will be doing a 3rd degree in the next few weeks and we need to be sharp!
Our Annual Pig Out will be on April 20th from 11 to 2. We’ll have brisket, pulled pork, cowboy beans & cole slaw; all you can eat. We dropped the donations this year to make it more affordable and hopefully, boost participation. Donations will be $8.50 for adults and $6.00 for kids, and kids small children eat free. Please come out for some great food and fine fellowship.
Last month’s roundtable discussion was very well attended and we’re hoping to see this trend continue. W.B. Ron is grooming Bro. Jason to assume the chair for this and I’m certain our Masonic Education Program will continue for quite some time. We’re all praying for W.B. Gene. He’s sorely missed. And, as most of you know, W.B. Ron will be leaving us this summer as well. He too, will be missed but we will persevere. Thanks Jason.
I’d like to congratulate Bro. Jason Michlowitz on his proficiency in the 2nd degree. He did an outstanding job Tuesday night and the entire degree was a good one. I’d also like to thank W.B. Ron Watkins and W.B. Steve Sampson for their contributions to a great evening.
Finally, our May SM will be very important as we’ll be going over all the pending legislation for the GL Communication and voting the will of the lodge on each item. I look forward to seeing lots of faces that evening as well.
Fraternally Yours,
George Daggett

The lodge appears to be picking up and it is good to see. We have the annual “Pig Out” on April 20th, hope to see all of you there, and make sure you invite your family and friends. Our education night is going well, and attendance is steady with support from brothers of other lodges, that should tell you it’s worth attending.
I want to stress how important it is to have your attendance at our degree meetings. The impression the candidate receives relies heavily on the quality of the degree work performed by the officer line, as well as, the number of brothers we have supporting the candidates introduction and progress through our ancient fraternity. We all took a pledge to support this wonderful lodge and fraternity and I hope that each of you can find some time in your busy schedule to devote to this task.
Our first and most important task as a member of this fraternity is to assist in making ourselves and other good men into better men, and this is done by initiating, passing and raising new members. With your support Wayfarers will continue to attract and develop all good men of true.
Look forward to seeing you.

I would like to thank all those that assisted me in achieving my proficiency in the Second Degree. I believe it takes a village and anyone who achieves anything in Masonry is assisted by their brothers. That is what the fraternity is all about. Thank you all for allowing me the opportunity, and to Bro. Chris for allowing me to once again preside over one of your degrees.
It is with a very heavy heart that I have accepted the request to assist in carrying on our Masonic Education program. I do so reluctantly following two great Masons who have spearheaded what has become our unofficial introductory program for almost all of the brothers that we have seen come through the lodge over the last four years, myself included. I do not claim to be a sufficient replacement for the two brothers that led this program, but I promise to come as prepared as possible in the hopes of keeping this very important program for Wayfarers alive and well. I would like to thank the men that came before me. To WB Ron Watkins for his dedication in the absence WB Gene Hutloff and for continuing to bring us great material to ponder as we proceed in our Masonic lives. And to WB gene Hutloff, who I think has been an inspiration to us all in his hour of need. We all pray for his recovery and soon. He is missed, and we wish him a speedy and healthy return to the lodge. Their shoes are a tall order to fill indeed, and I hope that I can be half the educator that they are.
As promised we are about out of caffeinated root beer in our soda machine, and all root beer going forward will be decaf. This is by parent request for those that are involved in our youth groups. If you have questions or concerns about this, please let me know.
And finally, as our other officers have already stressed, please come and attend lodge with us. Attendance has been down lately and we miss all of you that have not been attending. Come and see how busy we are and support the candidates that are going through our degrees.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Pig Out. It will be a great event!
Yours in the Craft,
Jason Michlowitz
