From the Worshipful Master
Hello again Brothers,
On behalf of Ms. Peggy Haff, her family and myself, thank you Wayfarers and Sunny Slope O.E.S. sisters for your assistance in brother Bill Haff’s memorial service. Brother Bill was a Master Mason in good standing for nearly forty-three years, and active in Wayfarers and Eastern Star for most of those years before he became physically unable to participate.
At nearly the same time, another Wayfarer was called to the celestial lodge above. Brother Sam Chestnut passed away on the 18th. Brother Sam was also infirmed and unable in recent years, to participate in our activities. These men will be remembered at our Lodge of Sorrow on March 5th, and by many Wayfarers, their memory will be everlasting.
Our DeMolay chapter has it’s meetings on the first and third Sundays of every month at 6:00PM. Please try to take advantage of this opportunity to support our boys and see what DeMolay is all about. Our chapter is small and struggling but some support from the brothers would be a big help and tremendous boost to them.
Our Job’s Daughters Bethel will be initiating new members on Monday, March 4th. Our young ladies would also love to have lots of us there.
Lastly, we’ve finally (after a 4+ year effort) reconciled our membership records with the Grand Lodge. While it’s good to finally be squared away, it also means the final cleanup must take place before mid-year. Past due notices will go out this week to all brothers who have not yet paid their 2013 dues. We also have a few brothers left, who are past due for preceding year(s). Per our bylaws, any brother who is 6 months past due or more, are to be suspended. It is therefore imperative, if you believe you’re receiving a past due notice in error, that you contact myself or Bro. Bob Reuillard immediately. No one wants to see suspensions so timely correction of any errors will be a priority.
Fraternally Yours,
George Daggett

Brothers:
We are completing our second month of the year and I hope this notice finds you well. I hope you can make it to our annual Lodge of Sorrow, it is a compelling night and a chance to keep the remembrance of lodge brothers who have pass forever within in our lodge. If you have not attended lately, I hope that we will see you soon.
Please come and support our youth groups as your time allows.
Please keep our brothers who are not feeling well in your prayers.

Brothers and Friends,
This month I wanted to write about something a little different. I recently had a very uplifting experience, and I learned what the brotherhood should mean to us all. Several of us in our lodge participate in historical reenactments, and while on site at an event this weekend, we received some ill news. I will not go into detail about the news itself, but suffice to say it hit me like a ton of bricks, and truth be told I don’t know why I took it so hard. I know that we all felt the sting but for whatever reason I took it hardest. Who was there for me the most? My brothers. We leaned on each other and got through it, and it led us to good cheer and we were brought out of a funk by relief, brotherly love, and mutual support. It is this type of experience that Masonry should be all about. I finally get it. I have not been a Mason very long, but what I saw was inspiring and shows me why I should continue to keep working in the Craft, and to keep a close friendship with my brothers. To those brothers that were there, I thank you for your support, and for your friendship, but most of all, I thank you for being my brothers. Without you, the world would be a little darker indeed. You know who you are…
On to this month’s business, I wanted to thank the DeMolay for the February Stated Meeting dinner. Gentlemen, it was excellent, and we look forward to your next participation with us. This upcoming month, our own Brother Bob has something planned for us from among our own. We are looking forward to your dinner.
To those parents that have expressed concern regarding caffeinated root beer, I will be retiring the Bargs and replacing it with A&W which has no caffeine. When this is complete, the following e-mail blast will contain an announcement that it has been done.
We have degrees coming up, so please come and support our newly obligated brothers and those that are working towards becoming Master Masons. Also, please watch the calendar for upcoming events. We have Lodge of Sorrows and this is open to everyone this Tuesday, and we have our yearly Pig Out coming soon, and it will be hosted by our Worhsipful Master.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
Yours in the Craft,
Jason Michlowitz
