From the Worshipful Master
Brothers All,
Spring is here and I hope all are well. We are having our annual Pig Out B.B.Q. on Saturday, April 21. Details on the website calendar. Come out for the great food and meet our Demolay and Jobs Daughters. We have also received the new Grand Lodge legislation. There are only 12 and our very own Worshipful Brother Ron Watkins has submitted several. After reading these I want to say great job. It is what a lot of brother have been trying for, for a long time. Also, best wishes and prayers to Worshipful Brother Forrest Page and Brother Mike Cheknas on the recovery from their illness. May the Great Architect watch over you.
Fraternally,
Rick Hinson WM
From the Senior Warden
Hello again Brothers,
It’s April already. We’ve got lots of degree work coming up and it’s nearly time for the 2011 Grand Lodge Session.
Our annual “Pig Out” BBQ will be on Saturday the 21st from 11 to 2. Also, our Master Mason’s roundtable discussion will be on the 9th at 7pm. Please come out and support your lodge. Attendance has been down a bit in recent weeks. We’d love to see strong support for Wayfarers at our meetings, degrees and events.
Warmest regards,
George Daggett S.W.
From the Junior Warden
Brothers,
I would like to start by thanking the DeMolay for cooking and serving at March State Meeting’s dinner. They did a wonderful job with the food and the service was absolutely spot on. It is great to see the growth of our DeMolay boys in number and in commitment.
The first week of April contains both Holy Week and the start of Passover. As we collectively celebrate the Christian resurrection and the Jewish people’s deliverance from bondage, it is a good time to rededicate or return to our respective faiths. Though Freemasonry is not a religion, we as Masons believe in a Supreme Creator and I personally view Freemasonry as a compliment to that faith. For most of us, this faith is grounded in mainstream Christianity and Judaism. I encourage everyone who is already in a faith home to appreciate the great gifts you have been given, and pray that those without might find somewhere they belong and can grow spiritually.
Happy Easter and Passover.
Fraternally,
Jeremy Borie JW

Brothers,
Editorial about Shakespeare @ the Lodge
A Sold out event!!
In today’s times it’s not often that a Sister or Brother will come up with an idea that is so totally out of the known box that ends up being a superior and outstanding success. Shakespeare’s MacBeth, performed by the Southwest Shakespeare Company, at Wayfarers Lodge was one of these out of the box event. The play and dinners was blessed with a sellout attendance for both the play and the dinner. The dinner alone was a spectacular event all by its self. The menu was Old English, Shakespeare being from Stratford upon Avon, England, and Scottish as MacBeth is about a Scottish King. The English Menu: Bangers and Mash (Sausage & Mash Potatoes with onion brown gravy) English peas, with several different English trifle, with different fruit’s as desert. Scottish Menu: Shepard’s Pie with fried cabbage, along with several other deserts.
How did such an overwhelming event originate? Well, it was the brain child of WB Gene Hutloff, Wayfarers Lodge #50, and Barbara Payton, Conductress Sunnyslope Chapter #47 OES, that from the outset was a money fundraiser to help the Youth Groups that meet at Wayfarers Lodge #50, Bethel #22 Jobs Daughters International and Sunnyslope Chapter Order of DeMolay. The proceeds from this event will be spilt 50/50 with both groups. Worshipful Master Rich Hinson, Wayfarers Lodge #50, and Worthy Patron Doug Steele, Sunnyslope #47 OES, sends a “Well Done” to Sister Barbara and Brother Gene for a great job and thanks for making this rewarding event happen.
Yours in the Craft,
Walter Hinson PM PP, Secretary
